The Lux Belle Mare resort, located on the east coast of Mauritius, close to Belle Mare village, reopened in October following a year of renovations.
A new look has been designed by Mauritian architect Jean-Francois Adam, with interiors created by Mauritian designer Jean-Marc Tang, featuring a contemporary feel themed around the greenery and ocean views surrounding the resort.
There are 174 suites and 12 villas and guests can choose from five restaurants on-site, featuring Indian, Chinese and Mediterranean cuisine and international classics, including signature restaurant Amari by the first Indian Michelin-starred chef Vineet Bhatia, offering a modern interpretation of India’s rich heritage.
The hotel features a 2000 sqm pool, one of the largest in Mauritius and a luxury spa and a number of tailored experiences are also available. These include ‘Slow Life On The East Coast’, where guests can travel in a vintage luxury car around the region, with a private chauffeur and local expert. Visits include traditional temples and the forest of Bras d’Eau with a canapé and champagne picnic. A catamaran trip is available for those wishing to explore Mauritius by sea sailing across the East Coast to Ile aux Aigrettes, an islet off the mainland in the Mahebourg Bay, with the opportunity to discover wildlife conservation work followed by swimming and snorkelling.
Foodies can opt for Amari by Vineet All To Yourself, which features private cooking masterclasses with chefs, where guests can discover the behind-the-scenes techniques used in Vineet Bhatia’s modern interpretation of Indian cuisine.
